This One's Gonna Bruise

Happy Thursday! I'm really excited! I went to dinner with Erin and her friend, Frankie, last night and we made plans to go caving next weekend! : D I've never been, and the more Frankie talked about it, the more excited we got! I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas! It just can't come soon enough!

Anywho, this is what I wore out last night. Funny story about these heels: I bought them for next to nothing. Never wore them. Gave them to Erin. They were too big for her. She gave them back. Now I wear them. Ok, maybe not so funny. I liked them because they remind me of the Irish flag, green, white, and orange. What good Irish girl could resist? :::I use the term 'good' loosely:::

Did I mention I'm going caving next weekend? Oh, I did? Ok! :::insert squeal of happiness here:::

Seriously, people are going to get sick of me!

I tried something else new last night: Slacklining. In Frankie's backyard. In the dark. With headlamps. Sometimes I have to acknowledge the randomness of my life! That is how I acquired these bad boys:

I've named them 'Joliet' Jake and Elwood Bruise. The Bruise Brothers.

How To Say Goodbye

Sunday night, I went to a farewell get together for a co-worker. Social situations with co-workers can be weird. Not that we don't already know way too much about each other! But still, weird! We met up at Bonefish Grill, ate some yummy food, drank some wine, and had a long in depth conversation about waxing our very hairy Russian AST Mgr, Lev....

 :::Weird!:::

We have to wear all black for work, so this was an opportunity for some of us me to play dress up! Some of us me wear polos, cargos, and Converse to work everyday, so we I were a bit unrecognizable to fellow co-workers! ; D

A dress with pockets. Can't beat that with a stick!

Sabine, adieu! Vous allez nous manquer!*

Western Spaghetti

Some fun pictures from Fells Point & Little Italy, Baltimore, Maryland:

Hon! ; D

How can you resist a mural of a tugboat?!? You can't!

Fells Point. This is a great old historic part of Baltimore. Kinda wished I had taken more pictures! C'est la vie!

At the Italian Festival in Little Italy.

This band consisted of Dad, daughter, 10, and son, 8.  These kids kicked some major butt! Their grandfather, uncle, and cousin also joined in for a few songs. What a musical family!

Mmmmm, wine, biscotti, calzones? Yes please!

Bocce ball. We have no idea what the rules are, but everyone was so intense! It was fun to watch!

Another storm was rolling in!

Everything Is Hotsy Totsy Now

The weather this weekend was CRAZY! In between frequent thunder & lightening storms w/ torrential downpours, Erin and I managed to fit in a half a day of climbing on Saturday (We got some great strength and endurance building tips from a friend. Thanks Mike! Also, we're having some success with V1 routes now! Yay! Go us!), then we headed downtown to wander around Fells Point, grabbed an Irish Russian at One-Eyed Mike's, and headed over to Little Italy for the Italian Festival. We ended the day at a friend's house for a bonfire, although we all spent a good hour/hour and a half hiding in the basement waiting for a storm to pass! But when it did, it was a beautiful night! : )

I love the print on this dress! It reminds me a little bit of a Monet painting. And the fun bright colors are so cheery! Monet in Technicolor! I kept my accessories and jewelry pretty minimal. Between the heat, humidity, and rain, it was just easier! And cooler. And I'm lazy. Too lazy to accessorize. Did I mention there was Italian Ice at the Italian Festival? It was yummy! ; D

I'll post pictures from Fells and Little Italy tomorrow.

Dress: Old Navy.
Wedges: B.O.C.

(Gn)ometown Glory

Since I spent most of the week in either outdoorsy wear, work wear, or my pjs, I really don't have any more fashion posts to share this week. Instead, I give you:

My absolute most favorite part of the NCR Trail:

:::drum roll:::

The Gnome Hill!

There is this random house on the trail and right out front is this slice of magnificence:

Violators will be toad! Haha! :::snort:::

I first stumbled upon this 8th Wonder of the World (; D) last January with Lex and Kera. The first words out of Lex's mouth: "Look, Jules! Your family!" Seriously, I wonder why I'm friends with her sometimes. ; )

Not only does this hill boast a wide variety of Gnomes, but there are also cherubs and Dinosaurs! : D

I feel like the owners of this hill and I would get along swimmingly!

Brand New Shoes

I know it's Spring/Summer and I should be thinking about sandals and snow cones.....mmmm....snow cones....

BUT! I just bought these cute boots that I found on Amazon. They're Dr. Martens, so right off the bat I'm in love! They were kinda pricey, but recently went to 40% off! And they're Dr. Martens! I feel that makes them a justifiable purchase! Right? Right! If I get as much wear out of them as my other Dr. Martens booties, that will be money well spent!

Dr. Martens Women's Viviana 2 Eye Desert Boot.

I can't wait to see how many different ways I can style them next winter!

Gone Fishin'

Saturday was just so beautiful! 80 degrees, sunny with a nice breeze. If the rest of Summer is like this, I will be a very happy girl! Lex and I took advantage of the perfect weather and went kayaking on Lake Redman, near York, PA.

Gum balls for gophers.

An older gentleman to Lex: "That's a nice pair of kayaks. How big are they?" This led to hours of jokes that prove that we have the mentality of 12 y/o boys!

 Ready to go 'yaking!

Chillin' like a villain!

Camoflouge legs?

A herd of 'yaks.

So...no swimming? ; )

We were hoping to make the New Freedom Farmers Market, but unfortunately missed it. : (
Instead, we stopped at Brown's Orchards & Farm Market. Grocery shopping on an empty stomach= expensive mistake! But a yummy expensive mistake!
