Yellow Sun

I saw this jacket at work this past week and started obsessing over it! I LOVE this shade of mustard yellow! Problem is, yellow's really not my color. But it's so cute! Also, it's from the old lady traditional section. I feel kinda old now. : (  But it's so damn cute! Finally, I tried it on and it fit perfectly! And it really isn't a bad color on me. Right? Right! It's kind of a pastel mustard yellow. :::insert dubious look here::: And it's linen, so perfect for cool Spring/Summer evenings. I bought it.

I love the detail on the front of this blouse! I also love my new chambray shorts. Wanna know what I love about chambray? It looks like denim, but it's a way lighter (aka cooler) fabric. Plus they were $15! ; D

P.S. Can I use the word 'love' anymore in one paragraph? ; )

On a random side note, Erin and I took a Movement class last night for climbers. Wow! I had that "A-ha! I get it now! This is what I'm doing wrong!" moment! I've been putting too much stress on my arms and not using my legs and center of gravity to climb. So, as a result, I'm getting super tired about half way up the wall. Not to mention I'm totally lumbering through it like an Ox, with no grace to speak of what-so-ever! After the class we ran down to the bouldering wall to try our new skills out. Sadly, a route that we've had marginal success with was gone (they change the routes on sections of the wall every month or so), but there was a new V Intro route for us to try and we were both successful on the first try! Even though I missed a few foot holds that would have made it significantly easier! Oops! I even attempted a route that's been kicking my butt for weeks and completed it! Victory is mine! Can't wait for Saturday for more climbing!

I Can See The Mountains From Here

Just some pretty pictures from when Lexi and I went hiking in Catoctin Mountain Park in Thurston, MD two Sundays ago. I felt like Matsuo Bashō, traipsing across Japan! Lexi also gave me my very own walking stick. It was about 5 inches long. She said it was 'my size'. Sometime I wonder why we're friends.... ; )

Also, I went to a yoga class for the first time in FOREVER last night w/ Erin. We joined Earth Treks, and they have free Yoga for Climbers classes on Tuesday nights! Totally kicked my butt, but it felt so good!

Love On The Rocks With No Ice

I've never been a 'Hitting the Gym' kinda girl. Boring. I feel like there is nothing there to motivate me to push myself. Nothing challenging or inspiring. Plus, they're kinda gross! Instead, I've always been drawn to more unusual forms of exercise. I spent most of my adolescent years Irish & German dancing (yes, Riverdancing) and have always been an avid hiker/trail walker. I love a good White Water Rafting trip or Kayak trip. I've done Yoga off and on over the last several years. And I spent the first few months of this year Cha-Cha-ing and Roller Skating! But I think I've discovered my one true love! Rock Climbing! Wow! I LOVE it! I asked a friend recently to teach me and I've been hooked ever since. Erin and I took an Introductory class last weekend and became Belay Certified last Thursday! P.S. I got Erin hooked on it, also! I swear, we're like Lucy and Ethel! Love her! Erin, that is! Well, I Love Lucy ( ; D ), too! But I digress! There are so many different styles of rock climbing ( Bouldering, Top-roping, and Lead-climbing) and so many different levels of difficulty, so there is always an opportunity for learning, growing, and pushing myself to the next level.

Some of the equipement need for climbing: Climbing shoes, Harness, Belaying Device & Locking Carabiner, Chalk Bag, Chalk.

The ADS Scale is used Top-roping and Lead Climbing and the V Scale is for Bouldering. Right now I'm climbing 5.7 routes on Top-roping, while V Intro (V 0-, 0, 0+) Bouldering routes are still pretty difficult. Sometimes I get to the top, sometimes I don't! But it's something to work toward!
